The family behind the business
- 1960s · the first generation
Bao Ji Aslam Javaid
Opened a small shop in Burewala selling music and the machines that played it, and called it Javaid Gramophone and Caset House. Gramophones, then cassettes, then the radios people brought in to be mended. The motto was set in those years and never moved.
- The second generation
Hafiz Nadeem Aslam
His son turned a music shop into an electronics shop. Remotes, chargers, batteries, the boards inside them, and the tools to fix all three. The name became Javaid Aslam Electronics, which is still what half of Burewala calls us when they walk in.
- Today · the third generation
Abubakar Nadeem
The grandson took the family business online, so the shop stays open after the shutter comes down. A customer in Karachi or Peshawar now gets the same fair price and the same honest advice as someone walking into the shop in Burewala.
